Thursday Tool Tip: Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool

Here’s another Thursday Tool Tip (on a Friday) for you.  I had sick kids home this week and I definitely lost track of which day was what this week!  Today’s tip is about the Stampin’ Up! Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool.   Click here to see other tips.

If you are someone that has trouble lining up brads when you want to place more than one in a row on a card or other project then the Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool are for you!  The Mat Pack comes with 3 different pieces…. a paper piercing pad to protect surfaces, a piercing template for even spacing, and a mini cutting mat with grid lines.  I love how easy the piercing template is to use.  Place it over your card stock, line it up using the markings along the edges and then decide where you want your brads. Use the paper piercing tool to make the holes for your brads and you are done!  Perfect alignment every time!  You can also use the paper piercing tool along with the piercing template and pad to add a line of perfectly placed and aligned holes along an edge of your card, or create a frame around an image or greeting.

Simple Get Well Wishes

Today’s project is inspired by this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  When I first looked at this sketch I was drawing a blank…. but then I thought… what if I flipped it?!  That’s the great thing about sketch challenges, or any challenge, really…  they are just meant as  a starting point!  I needed a get well card for a friend of my daughter’s who just dislocated his shoulder.  I thought this would be a great layout for a clean and simple masculine card.  Think about the possibilities with this one, simply change out the greeting and you can use it for just about anything.  The greeting set I used, Teeny Tiny Wishes (see it online), has a greeting for just about everything, too!  Change the colors around and maybe add a few embellishments (or not) and you can have a pretty feminine card!  What do you think?

The colors used here are whisper white and night of navy.  The greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes is popped up on dimensionals on a layer that was embossed using the big shot and the perfect polka dots embossing folder.  Now, here’s the inside…

Thursday Tool Tip: Clear Block Storage Caddy

I’m back again with another Thursday Tool Tip!   OK, yes I know it’s Friday,  I think I got my days confused earlier this week!  Today’s tip is about the clear block storage caddy.   Click here to see other tips.

Are your always searching for the right size of your Stampin’ Up! clear blocks?  Do your blocks not stay neatly stacked on your shelves?  Well the Stampin’ Up! clear block storage caddy can help!   This storage case is great because there is a space for each size clear block that Stampin’ Up! offers.  There is a foam insert to keep the blocks separate from each other and there is a finger hole in the foam to make it easy for you to get your block out.  It opens flat so you can determine at a quick glance which is the right size block for you…. no more searching!

And here’s a bonus tip for you…  don’t throw away the foam insert pieces that come inside.  These double as a paper piercing pad!

Sending a kiss….

I’m back with another Mojo Monday challenge card!  I wanted to send my daughter a feel good kind of card.  She’s back at college after month at home for winter break and she’s been having a rough week.  Nothing major thank goodness, but all the same, I wanted her to know I was thinking about her!  I decided to start with the sketch and the Just Add Cake designer paper and see what I could come up with.  Her favorite colors are blue and green so I went with this.

Stampin Up Kiss Card

The colors used here are baja breeze, wild wasabi, so saffron and poppy parade….. straight from the Just Add Cake designer series paper.  TIP:  Did you know that for every pack of designer series paper Stampin’ Up! lists the coordinating colors in the catalog so there is absolutely no guess work on your part!?  The baja breeze layer is embossed using the big shot and the perfect polka dots embossing folder. The wild wasabi scallop was done using the big shot and perfect pennants die and is placed on dimensionals. There are several circle layers created with some of the Stampin Up circle punches.  The greeting “sending a KISS” is from the Petite Pairs (see it online) stamp set.  I love this stamp set because it offers for 9 different occasions a greeting and coordinating message for the inside of the card!   The inside of the card, which I forgot to get a good picture of, has a strip of the same wild wasabi circles designer paper at the bottom, with the coordinating saying ” to make it BETTER” stamped in poppy parade.   A full supply list is included below.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Thursday Tool Tip: Adhesive Remover

I’m back again with another Thursday Tool Tip!   Today’s tip is about adhesive remover.   Click here to see other tips.

Do you ever get adhesive on your project where you don’t need it?  Or maybe you put adhesive on the wrong side of a piece of card stock?  If this ever happens to you then you need adhesive remover!  Simply use it like an eraser to remove that extra adhesive!  When your adhesive remover starts to get gummy, just cut off the top layer.  I have had mine for years and have not needed to replace them!

Thursday Tool Tip: Stampin’ Dimensionals

For the new year I am going to start something new….  Thursday Tool Tips!   I will share with you a tip that helps me in my crafting in the hopes that it will help you too!  Today’s tip is about stampin’ dimensionals.  Click here to see other tips.

I love to use stampin’ dimensionals on my projects!  I love giving certain elements added height and using them to create a 3-D effect.  Did you know that you can layer dimensionals on top of each other to create even more height?  That’s a tip for you right there, but I have another….

Do you get frustrated trying to peel off the tiny piece of paper from the stampin dimensional?  I used to until I learned that if you place your nail in the center and press down it will lift the edges slightly. This allows you to more easily grab that tiny piece of paper!Stampin Up stampin dimensionals
