I had recently been looking around online for ideas and I cam across these dress cards by Patty Bennett. I knew I had to try one. The other day I finally got a chance to make one. Here it is:
What a super easy card to make! All you need to make the dress is the big shot and the scallop circle die - that's it! Simply run your paper, here I used bella rose dsp, through the big shot with the scallop circle die. Then trim the edges off so you have the dress. Easy peasy. :) TIP: To make the dress symmetrical I created a template with a thin piece of cardboard. After I cut off one edge I used that piece on the other side to ensure I cut off the same amount. Once my template was done I simply placed it over my cut piece of dsp as a guide. I added a clear rhinestone brad to a piece of riding hood red taffeta ribbon to embellish the dress a little. The card base is whisper white with a strip of coordinating bella rose dsp. For added interest, I used the eyelet border punch along the edge and sponged kiwi kiss over it. After I added the dress to the rest of the card I added the greeting which is simply stamped in riding hood red, punched out with the large oval and sponged riding hood red around the edges. The greeting is attached with dimensionals. What do you think? I think the possibilities with this are endless - so many designs for the dress, so many different ways to embellish. If you try one out send me a link to your project!
